Ἀντάνδριοι κ.τ.λ. Despite what follows, the Persians managed to keep the town (Xen. Hell. i. 1, 25). διὰ τῆς Ἴδης τοῦ ὄρους Cf. c. 105, § 2, τὴν ἄκραν τὸ Κυνὸς σῆμα. The march would be some forty-five miles, and over a range of about 1000 ft. in height. ὑπάρχου Cf. c. 16, § 3; c. 87, § 1. Δηλίους κ.τ.λ. In v. 1 the Athenians Δηλίους ἀνέστησαν ἐκ Δήλου, ἡγησάμενοι . . . οὐ καθαροὺς ὄντας ἱερῶσθαι . . . καὶ οἰ Δήλιοι Ἀτραμύτιον Φαρνάκου δόντος αὐτοῖς ἐν τῇ Ἀσίᾳ ᾤκησαν. ἔχθραν προσποησάμενος ἄδηλον ‘professing to have a quarrel which he did not wish to declare openly’ (J.).
