Nar, a larger tributary of the Tiber, the modern Nera, which, rising on the borders of Picenum, where Umbria and the Sabine territory meet, flows along their border to the Tiber. It was noted for the white tinge of its water, for which see 616 n., and cf. Virg. Aen.VII. 517, sulfurea Nar albus aqua.Farfarus, the Farfa, a stream which enters the Tiber about thirty-five miles from Rome. Servius identifies with it the Fabaris of Virg. Aen.VII. 715.opacae undae, genitive of quality, R. ยง 524.
