Tlepolĕmus

Τληπόλεμος). A son of Heracles by Astyoché, daughter of Phylas, or by Astydamia, daughter of Amyntor. He was king of Argos, but, after slaying his uncle Licymnius, he was obliged to take to flight, and, in conformity with the command of an oracle, he settled in Rhodes, where he built the towns of Lindos, Ialysus, and Camirus. He joined the Greeks in the Trojan War with nine ships, but was slain by Sarpedon ( Il. ii. 658; v. 627).
