Tilphusium
(
Τιλφούσιον). A town in Boeotia, situated upon a mountain
of the same name south of Lake Copaïs, and between Coronea and Haliartus. It derived
its name from the fountain Tilphusa, which was sacred to Apollo, and where Tiresias is said to
have been buried (Pausan. ix. 33, 1).
