ἀδύνατοι). Persons supported by the Athenian State as being unable to earn a livelihood, owing to physical infirmity. Pisistratus first introduced a law for the support of those persons who had been maimed in battle. (See Lysias ὑπὲρ τοῦ ἀδυνάτου.)
