Adūlis

Adūlé (
Ἀδούλη). A city of Aethiopia, on a bay of the Red Sea called Adulitanus Sinus.
It fell into the power of the Auxumitae, for whose trade it became the great emporium. Here
was found the
Monumentum Adulitanum (q. v.), a Greek inscription recounting the
conquests of Ptolemy Euergetes I. in Asia and Thrace.
