ἐπὶas a consequence of.

ἑλεῖν τε τὸ ς.to capture the whole of that vast army, στρατόπεδον being the besicging force wherever it was stationed.

μηδὲ καθ᾽ ἕτερα = κατὰ μηδέτερα.
