2. The architect of a monument of a certain Cornelia, is desiginted in the inscription as at the same time a scene-painter and a contractor for public works (pictor scuenarius, idem redemptor). There are other instances of the union of these two professions. (Orelli, Inscr. Latin. select. No. 2636 ; R. Rochette, l.c).

In the article on Soranus, we find: "at this present time (1848)" and this date seems to reflect the dates of works cited. 1873 - probably the printing date.
