Philomeleides

Φιλομείδης), a king in Lesbos who compelled his guests to engage with him in a contest of wrestling, and was conquered by Odysseus (Hom. Od. 4.343, 17.134). Some commentators take this name to be a metronymie. derived from Philomela, No. 2.
