Sennŏnes. A German people, described by Tacitus
as the most powerful tribe of the Suevic race, dwelt between the rivers Viadus (Oder) and
Albis (Elbe), from the Riesengebirge in the south as far as the country around Frankfort on
the Oder and Potsdam in the north (
Tac. Germ. 39;
Ptol.ii. 11, 15).
