Hero öpŏlis

Ἡρώων πόλις) or
Hero (
Ἡρώ). A city in Lower Egypt, standing on the border of the desert
east of the Delta, upon the canal connecting the Nile with the western head of the Red Sea,
which was called from it Sinus Heroöpoliticus (
Κόλπος
Ἡρώων). The country about it is considered to be the Goshen of the Bible.
