Cydnus

Κύδνος). A river of Cilicia Campestris, rising in the Taurus and flowing through the midst of the city of Tarsus. It was celebrated for the coldness of its waters, in bathing in which Alexander the Great nearly lost his life (Plut. Alex. 19).
