TAKINA
(Asar) Turkey.
Site in Pisidia near
Yaralli, 34 km SW of Burdur, identified by an inscription
found in the village. The actual site is on a hill to the SW;
like many others in the region it is unfortified. Foundations of several small buildings are to be seen on the summit and a more considerable building at the S foot. On the adjoining hill is an extensive necropolis; the whole
slope is covered with rock-cut sarcophagi. A milestone
(
IGR IV, 880) found at Takina belongs to the series
erected by M'. Aquilius about 129 B.C. It has been suggested that Takina is Ptolemy's Gazena and the Ravenna Geographer's Tagena.
