Da'masus
(
*Da/masos), of Tralles in Cilicia, is mentioned by Strabo (
xiv. p.649) among the celebrated orators of Tralles.
He is surnamed Scombrus (
Ἐκομβρος), and is in all probability the same as the Damos Scombros mentioned by Seneca (
Controv. 2.14), and may possibly be the same as the rhetorician who is also spoken of by Seneca (
Suas. 1; comp. Schott,
ad Controv. 2.14) under the name of Damaseticus.
But nothing further is known about him.
