Atthis
(
Ἀτθίς). A chronicle of Attic history in which especial
attention was paid to occurrences of political and religious significance. After the last half
of the fourth century A.D., chronicles of this kind were composed by a number of writers
(Atthidographi), among whom Androtion and
Philochorus (q.v.) deserve special mention. These writings were much quoted by the
grammarians.
