Serdĭca

or Sardĭca. Now Sofia; an important town in Upper Moesia, and the capital of Dacia Interior, derived its name from the Thracian people Serdi. It bore in the Middle Ages the name of Triaditza (Eutrop. ix. 14, 22; Amm. Marc. xxx. 16).
