Also called Phoenix; a harbour on the southern shore of Crete (Acts, xxvii. 12).

A harbour in Messenia.

A harbour of Ionia.

A city of some size in the southern part of Lycia; on Mount Olympus, whence the city itself is also sometimes called Olympus (Strabo, p. 666). Under the Romans it was a rendezvous for pirates and was destroyed by Servilius Isauricus. See Vatia.
