Commius

A king of the Atrebates, who was advanced to that dignity by Caesar. He was sent by Caesar to Britain, but was cast into chains by the natives, and not released till they had been defeated by Caesar. In B.C. 52, he joined the other Gauls in their great revolt against the Romans, and continued in arms even after the capture of Alesia (Psend. B. G. viii. 7-23).
