Calēnus, Q. Fufius
A tribune of the plebs, B.C. 61, when he succeeded in saving P. Clodius (q. v.) from
condemnation for his violation of the mysteries of the Bona Dea. In 59, he was praetor, and
from this time appears as an active partisan of Caesar, in whose service he remained until
Caesar's death (B.C. 44). After this event Calenus joined M. Antonius, and subsequently had
the command of Antony's legions in the north of Italy. He died in 41.
