Cleōnae

Κλεωναί). An ancient town in Argolis, on the road from Corinth to Argos, on a river of the same name flowing into the Corinthian Gulf. In its neighbourhood was Nemea, where Heracles killed the lion, which is accordingly called Cleonaeus Leo by the poets.
