Chloe

（Χλόη), the blooming, a surname of Demeter the protectress of the green fields, who had a sanctuary at Athens conjointly with Ge Curotrophos. (Paus. 1.22.3; Eustath. ad Hom. p. 772.) This surname is probably alluded to when Sophocles (Oed. Col. 1600) calls her Δημήτηρ εῦΧλοος. (Comp. Aristoph. Lys. 815.) Respecting the festival Chloeia, see Dict. of Ant. s.v.

In the article on Soranus, we find: "at this present time (1848)" and this date seems to reflect the dates of works cited. 1873 - probably the printing date.
