MI´NYA
MI´NYA (
Μινύα), a city of Thessaly, said by Stephanus B. (s. v.) to have been formerly called Halmonia (
Ἁλμωνία), and to have derived its name from Minyas.
It is mentioned by Pliny (
4.8. s. 15) under the name of Almon, and in conjunction with Orchomenus Minyeus in Thessaly. (See Müller,
