COSSOANUS
COSSOANUS (
Κοσσόανος, Arrian.
Indic. 4), one of the many tributaries of the Ganges, recorded by Arrian.
It is probably the same as that which Pliny (
6.18. s. 22) calls Cossoagus.
It has been conjectured that it is the same as that now called Cosi or Cosa.
