Persĭcus Sinus

Maré (
Περσικὴ θάλασσα). The name given by
the later geographers to the great gulf of the Maré Erythraeum (Indian Ocean),
extending between the coast of Arabia and the opposite coast of Susiana, Persis, and Carmania,
now called the Persian Gulf.
