μεῖον 1

I.neut. of μείων. less.
II.μεῖον, ου, the lamb which was offered at the Apaturia, when a boy was enrolled in his φρατρία. It was to be of a certain weight; and the φράτερες, whose perquisite it was, used to cry out μεῖον, μεῖον, too light! cf. μειαγωγέω.
