A.coasting voyage, “τῆς Ἰταλίας καλῶς παράπλου κεῖται” Th.1.36 ; ἐν παράπλῳ κεῖσθαι ib.44, cf. 2.33, etc. ; simply, passage, POxy.525.1 (ii A.D.), Luc.VH1.28.
2. shore to be coasted along, “π. τραχὺς Πλατανιστὸς καλούμενος” Str.14.5.3, cf. 14.3.2 ; ὁ π. αὐτοῦ (sc. of the Red Sea) “ἔχει νήσους μικράς” D.S.3.38.
II. Adj. fit for coasting, “π. ποιησάμενος τοὺς Σιδητῶν παρῶνας” Plb.Fr.193.
