TARBA
or TURBA (Tarbes) Hautes-Pyrénées, France.
The Gallo-Roman town, the civitas Turba or
Tarba of the
Notitia Galliarum, whose very existence
had been called into question, has gradually come to
light in the course of construction in Tarbes since 1960.
It seems to have been restricted to a fairly small settlement, located on sandbanks surrounded by many rivulets with shifting beds.
